Jimmy Sturrs's accordion player is Al Piatowski. His accordion is made by T.
Alessandrini.
I talked with him briefly at the taping of the Jimmy Sturr show in Nashville
Tn.
He said he found the little shop in Italy and liked that sound of the reeds.
I liked them too.
He is a great player. He fills in great, and plays great solos. And he does
always have a smile on his face. Even after 6 hours of taping and 1 hour of
a live performance. That is a long time to stand up with the Baldwin hanging
on your front.

That is all I know about him, but I do enjoy watching him play.

Al Piatkowski has a long history with polka music He is originally
from the Syracuse, NY area where he had a small local Polka band, The
Authentics. Over the years he's been a member of many bands including
Eddie Blazonczyk's Versatones, The Dynatones, The Beat, just to name a
few. He also plays Chemnitz concertina.

I've known Al since he was 12, when he and his parents would come to
dances in the Southern NY area.
