Hello,
The Coronet Piano accordion in question looks to have some of the same
characteristics as the early CEMEX made Excelsiors. Does anyone know
if the Coronet brand (made in Italy) could have been made in the CEMEX
factory? I believe that Crown (Chicago) offered a Coronet model, but
there is little or no information, that I could find, that connects
the brands to a factory in Italy. Thanks.
Ciao,
Jerry

Just a hint. It's easier to guess a manufacturer if a link to a picture
of it is posted.

Coronet was an American "Brand" targeted specifically to Women.
Styling and sizing and marketing all focused on showing
the models as higher-than-average quality in sizes and weights
a Lady could handle.

Reeds were definitely better quality, better tuned, and the
keyboards were nicely finished and balanced, with a slightly
shorter throw

i have one, which i used for years and years as a Stroller
(3/4 LMM) in Nursing homes and rehab centers for room-to-room
and it has a very sweet, balanced tone suprisingly warm and
mellow for a non-chambered accordion

having been inside a buncha times, i'm quite certain mine
is an Excelsior/Cemex build - built to spec for the
marketing company promoting Coronet, of course. It is of
the same vintage as my "911" 4/5 reed white Accordiana, and
has the same dual lazy-oval grille, but with a more complex
color scheme and decorations in the ovals - round (not flat)
key action arms date them to the DooWop and Golden Oldies days

i do not know who was behind Coronet, and it does not appear
that they existed for very long, but if you run across one
that seems in decent shape, it's a good risk to buy it IMHO

ciao
